WIBCA Hall of Fame Banquet Celebrates Washington Basketball Excellence
The Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association (WIBCA) proudly celebrated its 2026 Hall of Fame Banquet on July 15 at the historic Uptown Theatre in Richland, Washington. Coaches, family members, friends, and members of the basketball community gathered for an evening honoring the individuals whose dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact on high school basketball throughout Washington State.
The evening began with a social hour before the formal Hall of Fame ceremony. Longtime coach and past Hall of Fame inductee Pat Fitterer served as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies, guiding attendees through a memorable celebration of the state’s coaching tradition. The event was coordinated under the leadership of Bruce Siebol, WIBCA Hall of Fame Chairman, whose continued commitment helps preserve and celebrate the rich history of Washington high school basketball.
Retired Richland High School head coach Earl Streufert was inducted into the WIBCA Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding coaching career, dedication to student-athletes, and lasting contributions to the game.
WIBCA also recognized three outstanding assistant coaches with induction into the Assistant Coaches Hall of Fame:
- Robert Harris – Davis High School
- Bruce Robertson – Richland High School
- Bruce Richardson – Roosevelt High School
Each honoree was celebrated for years of selfless service, mentorship, and the invaluable role they played in the success of their basketball programs and the development of countless student-athletes.
Special awards were also presented during the evening:
- Dave Cullen, District 5 Coordinator, received the prestigious Ed & Shirley Pepple Service Award for his exceptional leadership and dedicated service to basketball throughout Washington.
- Todd Schumacher, Head Boys Basketball Coach at Burbank High School, was presented with the Pat Fitterer “You Gotta Love It” Award, recognizing his passion, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to coaching and positively impacting young people through the game.
The annual Hall of Fame Banquet remains one of WIBCA’s most cherished traditions, bringing together generations of coaches to celebrate excellence, recognize service, and honor those who have helped shape the history of basketball in Washington.
