A coaching legend, Wills graduated from Walla Walla high school in 1929 and went to Washington State on a track scholarship. He wanted to play basketball…and he did…for FOUR years. He established the Cougar school mile record which stood for many years.
Wills graduated from WSC in 1934 and taught and coached two years at Kelso before moving to Bremerton as track coach and Physical education teacher. He also managed to get the basketball job and held it from 1936 to 1962. Wills established a record of 472 victories and 164 losses…and took 15 teams to the state tournament in 26 years. He won the state title in 1941 and took second place in ’42, ’46 and ’48.
