Dave Robertson

Coach Robertson grew up in New Mexico. He played basketball at the University of New Mexico for three years and finished his collegiate eligibility at Adams State College where he was all conference and graduated in 1952. He then coached baseball in Sanford, Colorado for one year and spent the next three years at La Jara, Colorado coaching basketball and baseball. In 1956 he went to Alamogordo, New Mexico for five years as an assistant coach in football, basketball and baseball.

In 1961 Dave accepted a National Science Foundation academic year institute for graduate studies in mathematics at the University of Colorado. After receiving a MBS from Colorado in June of 1962, Dave moved to Spokane as football and basketball assistant at Shadle Park High School. He became the boys varsity basketball coach in 1966 and held that position forsixteen years. He retired in 1982 when the legislature offered early retirement. In 1988 as a part time brokerage salesman, Dave found time to coach for four more years at Gonzaga Prep where his teams continued the success of their Shadle Park predecessors.
