Bill Nollan

Pasco’s and Hoquiam’s loss proved to be Lincoln of Seattle’s gain as Bill Nollan capped a 24-year coaching career with 21 years (1930- 1950) at the North Seattle school. During his tenure at Lincoln, the Lynz ventured to the state tournament four times, taking first in 1945 and finishing runner-up in 1950. Included in his years at Lincoln were a half-dozen league champions as well as the development of numerous players who went on to become outstanding college players, including Doug Smart and Bruno Boin, both UW standouts. Nollan spent one year at Pasco ( 1927), two years at Yoquiam ( 1928 and 1929) and the remainder at Lincoln. He finished with an over-all record of 225 wins and 125 losses for a winning percentage of .640. During the 24 years of coaching, Nollan’s teams outscored their opponents in (league games only), 10,975 to 9,325.
